Designing the ultimate life simulation game: Which title's character customization would you incorporate?

Hey everyone! We’re brainstorming ideas for the perfect life simulator game. We’ve already decided to use The Sims 2 for its awesome lore and premade characters. Now we need to figure out which game to draw inspiration from for the character customization feature.

What’s your top pick for a game with amazing character customization options? Drop a comment with the name of the game you’d choose. Feel free to share why you like it, but make sure to clearly state your choice.

We’ll keep this thread open for about a day, then move on to the next part of our dream game design. Can’t wait to see what you all come up with!

Saints Row games have some wild character customization. You can make your character look totally bonkers or somewhat normal. Tons of sliders for body shape, crazy hairstyles, and even voice options. Could be fun in a life sim.

I’d go with Dragon Age: Inquisition for character creation.

You can really fine-tune your hero’s look and background. Tons of options to make them unique.

Black Desert Online has insane character customization.

You can tweak every little detail on your character’s face and body. Way more options than most games I’ve played.

Cyberpunk 2077 has a pretty solid character creator. You can tweak a lot of facial features and cybernetic implants. It’d be cool to have that futuristic vibe in a life sim, letting you customize both organic and synthetic parts.

Gotta say, Elden Ring’s character creator is pretty incredible. You can make some truly unique and weird-looking characters if you want. Or go for more normal looks. The facial features are super detailed. Plus you get all those cool starting classes and gear to play with. It’d be awesome to have that level of customization in a life sim.
