Hey folks, I stumbled upon something weird in the Steam description for Fallout 3. It got me thinking about a crazy idea. What if all the Fallout games are just Vault-Tec simulations of the wasteland?
I know it sounds bonkers, but hear me out. The description kinda hints that everything we’ve played might not be real within the game’s universe. It’s like Vault-Tec is running these scenarios to see what the wasteland could be like.
If this theory holds any water, it would mean none of the events in the games actually happened. They’re all just simulations! Can you imagine? Our favorite characters and quests might just be part of some virtual experiment.
What do you guys think? Am I reading too much into this, or could there be something to this wild idea? Has anyone else noticed anything in the games that might support or debunk this theory?
That’s a wild theory for sure. It’d explain some of the crazier stuff we see in the games, like how different the factions and tech can be between titles. But I dunno, it feels like it would cheapen the whole experience if it was all just a sim. Part of what makes Fallout great is how lived-in and real the world feels, you know?
I’ve thought about this before too. It’s a fun idea, but I don’t think Bethesda would go that route. They put so much effort into building the lore and world. Making it all a sim would undo a lot of that. Still, Vault-Tec is pretty sketchy, so who knows!
That’s an interesting theory! Vault-Tec running simulations fits their style. But it might take away from the emotional impact of the stories. The games feel more meaningful if we believe they’re ‘real’ in that universe. Still, it’s fun to think about. Nice catch on that Steam description!
That’s a pretty out-there theory. I can see why the Steam description sparked it. Fallout’s world is so bonkers sometimes, a simulation would make sense. But man, I hope it’s not true. I’ve spent way too many hours exploring the wasteland for it to all be fake!
