I’m thinking about buying Overcooked! 2 for my Nintendo Switch while it’s discounted right now. Before I make the purchase, I want to know if the online multiplayer is still populated with players. I’m mainly interested in finding random people to team up with for cooking challenges since most of my friends don’t own the game. Can anyone tell me about their recent experience with matchmaking? Do you usually find other players quickly when searching for online sessions, or does it take a long time to get matched up? I don’t want to buy it only to discover that the online community has moved on to other games.
Matchmaking’s still solid on Switch. Played a few weeks ago and never waited more than 2-3 minutes for a match. Player base isn’t huge but it’s definitely not dead. You’ll run into the same people during off-peak hours, but there’s enough variety to stay interesting. Worth grabbing on sale for sure.
Got it last month and matchmaking works fine. Takes maybe a minute or two to find people most times.
