I just completed this game, and I was really impressed by the technical aspects, especially the ending. I don’t want to give too much away for those who haven’t had a chance to play it yet.
However, something kept bothering me during the game. The gameplay was truly amazing, probably one of the best I’ve ever played. But I couldn’t help but feel that the writing and the storytelling fell short. It seemed to me that the narratives didn’t quite come together as full stories, if that makes sense?
The lack of depth in the story annoyed me to the point where I decided to rewrite the whole first act myself. I’m interested to see if anyone else experienced similar feelings about the story compared to the fantastic gameplay. Did anyone else find that the writing limited what could have been an outstanding game?
